India Maternal Mortality Problem

Giving birth should be a time of celebration, but for more than half a million women across the world it brings death.



In India, about 70,000 women die of pregnancy- and childbirth-related complications each year. The majority of maternal deaths are preventable with basic healthcare, but the problem is made worse by widespread poverty.
