MUMBAI: The Indian Premier League is always full of surprises. After all the fuss over Pakistan being ‘excluded’ from the 2010 auction comes a Razzaq
soothener: IPL-2 champions Deccan Chargers will be signing up Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq, as an injury replacement for IPL-3.
Incidentally, Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan had recently said that he was keen on signing Razzaq, but seems to have missed out.
Deccan Chargers chairman V Shankar told TOI on Thursday, “One of our (international) players is injured and needs a surgery. Therefore, we needed a replacement and Razzaq fits the bill well because of his all-round abilities. There was never an issue about Pakistan players being deliberately not picked as has been talked about all along.”
The injured cricketer in the Deccan camp is West Indies fast bowler Fidel Edwards. Chargers did not reveal any further details but the injury to Edwards opened up a slot for an international cricketer, paving the way for Razzaq. However, as of now, Chargers is the only team going ahead and buying a player from across the border.

I think Razzaq would like to go for IPL to earn some money. But he should think of Pakistan first and the insult that was done to us by the cunning Hindus. This is just another drama of the drama queen india. Don’t forget their attack on sri lankan cricket team. The Indians are not civilised they can do anything to insult and destroy pakistan. We have a history where agressor, the epicenter of terror india has always tried to bring us down. When our cricketers defeated them on every arena they decided to insult them.

I think it is good that IPL came to its senses. I think it was cheap on the part of Modi and the franchise owners to ignore Pakistani cricketers. The Indian public and media were very upset by that. Modi did not expect that kind of reaction. Now he is backtracking on the issue which is good. I would love to see Gul and Asif bowl in the IPL. Let us keep sports and politics separate.

let me tell u one thing honestly, when pakistani team was here in UAE, afridi, fawad,kamran akmal. umar gull,aaqib javed,abdul razaq, they visit one of my friend’s home, and razaq said ” pakistan main cricket khailne k pese nahi milte, jitne k IPL aur Bangladesh League khail ker milte hein, ICL bhe ham ne achay pese milne ke waja se join ke thi.” ye alfaaz they janab Abdul Razzaq k, so my all paki fans,, aap in se koi umeed mat rekhein, ye pese k ghulam hein, pakistan ke respect in k liay koi hesiyat nahi rekhti.
