Asif Zardari Swiss Case Evidence Removed Wajid Shamsul Hasan headed a secret Operation in Geneva

GENEVA: Pakistani High Commissioner in Britain Wajid Shamsul Hasan headed a secret operation in Geneva and received at least 12 cartons comprising the original documents and evidences against some Pakistani high-ups in Swiss money laundering case

According to The News correspondent, the Prosecutor General of Pakistan in Geneva deposited these cartons in the era of former President Pervez Musharraf.

The sources said the secret operation was carried out at the bidding of a top personality of Pakistan, as these evidences could be used if Swiss Money Laundering case is reopened after the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) terms comes to an end.

The sources at Pakistan embassy said if the concerned officials or the courts do not interfere by taking the evidences back from Wajid, then these documents would be wasted for good.

The secret operation begins at 9am on Monday when Wajid arrived in Pak High Commission’s car along with NAB’s senior official Danishwar Malik at the office of Prosecutor General in Geneva.

According to sources, the Prosecutor General kept refusing to give the documents for some hours, as nobody from Pakistan embassy was formally receiving them.

It should be mentioned here that after the NRO, these cases were closed. However now that the term of NRO is over, it was all the more likely that these cases could be re-opened and these evidences could be employed against Pakistan’s high personality.

The News team secretly filmed the whole episode from an undisclosed location after receiving tip-off from reliable sources.

The sources in Geneva told Geo News that Wajid Shamsul Hasan is arriving in Geneva from London, so that these documents could be destroyed or shifted to some safer place.

The Pak embassy in Geneva was kept aloof from the operation.

The News correspondent Javed Kanwal approached Wajid and Danishwar, as both of them appeared from the office. Both of them looked perturbed at the presence of The Current Affairs.com reporter there.

When approached for comment, Presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar said he is absolutely unaware of any such operation; however, he would assert a portion of media is victimizing President Asif Ali Zardari with its heinous campaign.

The high-ups in Interior Ministry also said they are not abreast of any such report, adding the matter relates the NAB and Law Ministry.

We all know very well Zardari and Co. are corrupt. We still remember the case when Zardari accused for taking money from Ghulam Hussain Annar, he tied his legs with bombs and took the money. It’s not strange for me what he did with the help of Wajid Hassan as claim by Jang/Geo. Wajid Shamsul Hassan is a famouse Zardari “front man”
I congratulate Geo/ Jang for a great story. I wish Geo one day shows us the stories of MQM as well, how they rigging in Karachi and how they getting “bhatta” and killing and torturing their political opponents brutally,………….. but I know they will never

We need to wait as Jang and GEO is not a trusted media group any more. If its a true story then it will be another shameful act of the govt but if its not true then who will make Jang group accountable?
Most of the people hate this govt because we did not get any relief so far, but I will not hold only this govt responsible as being a Pakistani every one needs to play his/her role.
We know that what shameful role our media is playing.
Lets wait to prove authenticity of this story.
Thanks

President Asif Zardari has earned the distinction of dragging his feet on most burning issues, believing if he put off the decision for long the issue would ultimately melt away.

However, presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar dismissed this view and said Zardari continues to take decisions on important issues at the desired time.

In the process, the president has earned flak for having a weak will to take decisions, sometimes delaying them for political expediency and at others due to the fear that he would lose the present clout and authority.

Some of the issues on which the president continues to shilly-shally range from the nomination of a full-fledged law minister and an attorney general to restoration of Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan’s membership of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) central executive committee, scrapping of the 17th amendment, trial of Pervez Musharraf under Article VI, shunting out the NRO-hit ministers, top aides, and ambassadors posted at the most important capitals of the world and fate of Musharraf’s district government system unanimously repeatedly discarded by the present provincial administrations.

“The 17th amendment is not something that is on the president’s desk, awaiting decision. The point that has to be understood is that it is parliament that is to deal with this issue,” a presidential confidant told The News on condition of anonymity. The president, he said, has twice spoken his mind to get rid of the 17th amendment on the floor of the house and also once wrote a letter to the prime minister for its early abolition.

The aide disclosed that in the last Zardari-Nawaz meeting at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, the president explained that the strength of the PPP and the PML-N in the Senate put together came to just 28 members while sixty-seven MPs (to constitute a two-thirds majority) were required to pass a constitutional amendment in the Upper House. “We both parties are thus short of 39 senators.”

According to him, Zardari asked Nawaz Sharif to talk to other parliamentary group like the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), the Awami National Party (ANP) and the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) to garner their support for the parliamentary vote against the 17th amendment. “As per my information, the PML-N hasn’t as yet talked to any of these parties, seeking their support against the controversial amendment although Nawaz Sharif had hinted at discussing the issue with the smaller parliamentary groups on priority basis,” the Zardari confidant said. He said the president told Nawaz Sharif that the smaller parties, knowing that the PPP and the PML-N were not in a position to approve the constitutional amendment on their own, now wanted to squeeze maximum concessions on the question of provincial autonomy as a quid pro quo. He said the PML-N had suggested that some other name for the NWFP, instead of the ANP proposed Pakhtoonkhwa, should be agreed upon, but it had not so far discussed the idea with the ANP.

The president also vacillated for over seven months on the non-political appointment of the chairman of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC). Perhaps, he was waiting for the expiration of two-year ban on Justice (retd) Bhagwandas to go.

About the delay in Aitzaz Ahsan’s restoration as CEC member, Zardari’s aide said it was a procedural matter and whatever decision would be taken would be made public. This means that there is no plan to revive the prominent lawyers’ leader as the PPP CEC member. Regarding the delay in appointment of a full-fledged law minister and attorney-general, he said search for suitable persons was still going on.

The president has successfully resisted the universal recommendations of the provincial governments to give his assent as required under Schedule VI of the Constitution, allowing them to amend the local bodies’ law in order to scrap Musharraf’s system. However, Zardari has dragged the issue to December when the requirement of the presidential asset would no longer exist in the Constitution, and then the provinces would be at liberty to change the local laws.

Zardari continued to dilly-dally on this matter despite an announcement by the prime minister five months ago after a meeting with the chief ministers that the present district government system would stand disbanded in August and the provinces would appoint administrators at their will.

The president’s persistent dithering on a host of issues continues troubling him and mars his style of governance. Some of them have compounded with the passage of time rather than simply vanishing from the political screen.

Hassan Karachi December 2, 2009

While Mr Abbasi may not have many fans, primarily for his well-known ideological leanings, one must give him credit for his extremely candid, factual and honest dossier on President Asif Zardari and his style of governance. Mr Zardari is neither a statesman nor a charismatic politician. He is prone to act upon the ‘advice’ of his manipulative and expedient advisers. There is nothing permanent about Mr Zardari, except for his personal ‘traits’ that we all know about.

Mr Abbasi has rightly pointed out Mr Zardari’s casual and self-centred style of governance, marred by his inaction and indifference, which is threatening the whole system. When Mr Abbasi asserts that “there is no greater threat to democracy and the system than the president himself”, he is echoing the views of a large majority of citizens.

Geo News aired the video last night. The two “gentlemenn” were as perplexed as a thief caught redhanded. What other proof do we want?

abdul haq December 3, 2009

You all are very unfair and unjust people. You make a thief your king but when he steals you cry. Is this not very unreasonable?
