parvez_musharrafNational Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) by far is the best thing that happened to Pakistan after the 1973 Constitution. The 73 constitution was just some guidelines, whereas NRO is the practical step to strengthen the survival of the constitution in the country, and the whole nation including those didn’t bestow by the NRO should be grateful for the former president general (r) Pervez Musharraf.

The brightest aspect of the NRO was to put an end to political confrontation and victimization and to strengthen the democratic system at all costs. It was established that the politicos would forget the enmities and the vitriolic hatred politics will be forgotten and forgiven and it would be a new start of the democratic process in Pakistan.

PPP Information Secretary Fauzia Wahab is right when she asserts that the NRO was promulgated after efforts of people who had vision of future and they did it for democracy and for finishing the politics of enmity that was seen in the Nineties and she rightly learns that the credit should goes to the General Musharraf.

The ultimate goal of the NRO is to enable the people of Pakistan would decide the fate of their leaders through power of ballot which is indeed stronger than all the bullets combined.

PPP leadership and it’s workers are victims of political witch hunt for over a decade. The past governments spent millions of dollars to pursue political agenda to eliminate popular leaders of Pakistan Peoples Party and were not able to achieve their hidden agenda. NRO is being taken out of context by few instead of moving forward in a positive way to deal with growing extremism, suicide bombing, economic, law and order and other issue. Pakistan is facing many challenges which are deep rooted and unity is the only way forward to save Pakistan and democracy. The continue in fighting in political circles in Pakistan will weaken the country at large and allow enemies of Pakistan to succeed.

@irum khan

i totally agree with you PPP was witch hunted by its rivals , from the days of Bhutto Sahab and even today. have Dr shahid masood have forgot he was in the same plan which brought BB to karachi from dubai on 18th october 2007. wait a minute why he was not reminded by his head then she came with a deal. ????

we should give credit to government on annoucing the name of NRO beneficary with a press conference rather than keeping it under the carpet. it shows that PPP belief in democratic values.

In fact , always in history , the dictators have been using various tools to work out in order to harm the government of Pakistan Peoples Party and in their attempts to do so, PPP has always made a red history and never bowed in front of dictators but rather , the sacrifices it gave for democracy..their example is nowhere to be found in history.General Musharaf made all his attempt to banish democracy from the face of Pakistan’s map, but it was PPP which saved it , but strenghtened it.
JEAY BHUTTO, JEAY ZARDARI.
PAKISTAN KGAPPAY!

Rida Baloch November 25, 2009

Of course, PPP is the symbol of federation, PPP made a great history for democracy against dictatorship, PPP is the only largest party of Pakistan, From worker to its Leader PPP give sacrifices in the struggle fofr democracry and PPP believes DEMOCRACY IS THE BEST REVeNGE but unfortunately the opposing goverment always made false charges against PPP leaders…The PPP Shaheed Chairperson faced the jail for 5 years under false charges, The Prime Minister of Pkaistan Syed Yousif Raza Gilani faced jails for 5 years too under false charges and President Asif Ali Zardari who face jail for 11 years now how could Opposition Leaders and the Pakistani media claim
that PPP leaders are step backing from These jail rooms, can’t have that much bravery to face the courts…this is wht all non-sense the pakistani media is spreading all over the world but being a Pakistani, I support PPP and will continue it as PPP is the only saviour of Pakistan.

NRO and the media have helped show the real face of our leaders that are smeared in corruption. these both owe their existance to Musharaf. As dictator he was an evil and now as a political figure (if at all) he will be the lesser evil.

All “Aqal key andhey Pakistaniyo se request”

The father of Mian bro’s was a black-smith, and of Chaudhery bro’s a fott-constable in Punjab-Police.

How they maintained properties, no body is needed to ask them?

They were immigrants of india, be yaro madadgar, faqeer&malang?

Only Zardari seems to be corrupt alone in the blind-eyes of Pakistani?

Damn it all an injustice nation.

Raza March 1, 2010

No doubt, since the freedom from the British, our leaders and rulers have been engaged to promote their own interests and agendas. They never thought about a common man of this country. But there were some good politician who should be given honour for their sacrifices. The dilema of Pakistani nation is mis-management and lust for wealth. Our neighbour India is enjoying good position in the modern and developing world. We still are busy to break and hang the democracy through leveling the grounds for Army to rule. Uf my God, where we are living. We should support democracy in any case. Ultimately, in the modern world, we have to go with democracy. Then think, think about your next generation which is helplessly watching all this drama.
