Shahbaz Sharif gestures goodwill for MQM

KARACHI: First formal contact between Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement was made after ten years when Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif Tuesday called on governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan in governor house here Monday.
Talking to newsmen after the meeting, Shahbaz who also served as PML-N president, said his party wants to collaborate with other political forces in order to resolve various issues faced by the country.
“I have asked the governor to convey my best wishes to MQM chief Altaf Hussain.”
Talking to reporters, Ibad said he exchanged views with Shahbaz over the current political issues and on ways to strengthen relations between the two parties.
Ibad said the CM has invited him to visit Punjab.
Earlier, Shahbaz Sharif called on Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah at Chief Minister House.
Briefing the media persons about the meeting, he said his government has constituted a committee for preparation of the National Finance Commission.
Shahbaz informed it has been decided that since new wheat crop is about to arrive and the Punjab province will provide more 30,000 metric tons of wheat to Sindh to meet its demand.
He announced that out of total 50,000 tons of wheat, 25,000 tons is a gift from people of Punjab.
